Dating Rules: Facebook Proof Your Moves...

In an era where we have more friends online than we have in real life, it is a no brainer that the dating game has advanced more rapidly than Ataris to Wiis. Odds are sky high that you will find your next Boo online, however, if you meet in real time...your trains will certainly collide in Cyberspace. Goddess' no nonsense pointers in conjunction with Netiquette and online dating expert Julie Spira are here to save you from digital suicide! Here are the rules to know:

1• No friend requesting early on. The temptation to explore his past and present will be immense, however, these actions will brand you as being a desperate stalker!
Spira Says: "It's just too soon and you aren't in a relationship, nor are you even really dating..."

2• Avoid TMI when checking in, posting photos, and status updates. No one is entitled to know your every move like what you ate for breakfast, who you went to bed next to, or the details of your breakup. Not only are you fueling fire of "frienemies", your associates and beau do not need to know or predict your moves.
Spira Says:"Saying I Love You on Valentine's Day is appropriate on your wall if youKre friends on Facebook. Saying I Love You everyday and talking about details of your first kiss on Facebook breaks the rules of Netiquette."

3• Try to use judgement and post direct messages when you know its for intende eyes only! Sometimes it is necessary to keep private information from public streaming.
Spira Says:"You can't take it back. Often these updates are indeed by the Search Engine. Even if you remove a photo or update from your Timeline on Facebook. It may have already been shared by friends and friends-of-friends."

4• Avoid constantly changing your relationship status out of scorn and to prove a point. Going from single to In a Relationship to It's Complicated will have everyone exhausted and prying you for details!!!

KEEP READING IF YOU'RE MARRIED...

5• Be careful with online flirting and tweets. As they say, the tweets are watchin and anything you do can be captured and saved!

6• Watch out with Instagrams from Girls Night Out...what happened in da club should stay there. Also, be mindful of posts when you have mutual friends and in-laws being newsy. It ALWAYS gets back to the source!

ADDITIONALS:

• Do a Google search to corroborate identities.

• Do a check for Mutual Friends

• Never add Strangers--potential spies!
