Clubbing: Do's and Dont's for Couples

There comes a time in your relationship where you weigh on the worth-it-ness of hitting the club with your mate.  You may both be the life of the party, but approach this like a typical girl's nite out and you might have your relationship nose diving faster than the Titanic.  What can you do to make sure the night goes smoothly?

Have a Pre-Game Strategy Session.  Communicate with your mate what you are comfortable with or your pet peeves.  For example, can you dance with other people? How much are you going to drink? What to do if someone is coming on to you? No one likes surprises.

Try to be Open-Minded and Uncontrolling. Do not use this as an opportunity to showcase and walk your St. Bernard on a leash! This is not grounds for testing your relationship, but rather having a genuinely good time. It's time to not focus on your roles as GF & BF...but rather close friends....so save the lovey dovey for date night!

Trust each other with a little Space.  You do not need to cling to each other the entire night.  Be trusting enough to know that it's okay to chat with and meet other people while being respectful.

Be open to going as a group, though there should be a balance between friends/genders.  So, you invite your girls and he can bring some of his dudes so it feels less like a weird date! Caution--only bring supportive friends who won't try to create drama by unleashing the college you which is not consistent with having a Man. Vice versa with men trying to bring out the playboy in your man like "Yo dawg we need to holler at these b*tches"...Not!!

Keep it Sexy.  Go out looking sexy and feeling good for the good ole fashion ego boost....just because you're with your man doesn't mean heads shouldn't be whiplashed that evening.  Show him why he's lucky to have it all.

  1. Communicating pre-game is a MUST! You have to lay down the law (DOs & DONTS) our this could be the last night of your relationship. No matter what's discussed before you go out, this night will be challenging and your feelings will be startled. Both parties must check their egos at the door. Men will be men and get a glance or two. Women will women and flirt when the opportunity presents itself. Just let your partner know its not a knock against them. Show appreciation towards each other as well...dont forget who you're going home with. LOL. Goddess THX for the great advice, it will go a long way. This is Grown-Folks talk...play the game right!

  2. Exactly Tee! I made that fatal mistake of being drunk and a lil too loose at the club and its mad awkward when you don't discuss in advance so you end up in the club scowlin n arguing lol....
